Guillermo Vargas is an important and influential voice in Monteverde, Costa Rica. As a founder of the Monteverde Institute, a co-founder of the Monteverde Conservation League and an active member at his family cooperative farm, he educates students and the local community about sustainability and the conservation of our ecosystem. He considers his farm a learning farm and the practices there represent the basis of his outlook on sustainability and the future of the growth of nature in Costa Rica and around the world. To put it simply, Vargas is dedicated to la vida sostenible (the sustainable life).
